Hello!

I'm Colleen Tate and I'm glad you found my page.  My main objective in therapy is simple: to assist you in feeling comfortable to be vulnerable in our journey together.  I have a passion for helping others take a holistic approach to learn about themselves and to find genuine happiness and peace within their lives.  I am empathic and experienced at providing a safe setting where we can explore what is causing you to feel anxious, distressed or dissatisfied.

In therapy we work together to clarify the emotions that are holding you back or causing suffering. You can find new ways to see yourself and others, which leads to more meaningful relationships and a more fulfilling life. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental and professionally focused environment in which we sort through ways of being that cause suffering, so that you can experience the world differently and behave in different ways. People gain confidence, improve relationships and change repetitive patterns of behavior that cause pain.   I can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution.

I work with children/adolescents and adults of all ages who are experiencing interpersonal distress; intense or erratic moods; struggling with behaviors that cause stress or conflict; or who have experienced great loss or a change in health.  I currently work as a school counselor and an outpatient therapist, which provides me the opportunity to see human development in several life stages and incorporate the developmental perspective into our time together.
